Manlio Bassino

Manlio Bassino is a lawyer with extensive experience advising national and international companies on Intellectual Property, Health Regulations, and Corporate Law. For over 13 years, he was a partner at Echecopar, where he had direct responsibility for the Intellectual Property and International Trade practice and led teams and highly complex cases with national and international scope.

Throughout his career, he has advised companies in sectors such as consumer goods, technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and entertainment, participating in the protection of intangible assets, administrative and judicial proceedings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate disputes, and the negotiation of commercial and civil contracts. His experience combines a solid legal vision with a strategic approach focused on aligning legal advice with business objectives.

He currently serves as president of the Peruvian Association of Industrial Property and Copyright (APPI) for the 2025–2027 term. Previously, he chaired the Trademark Committee of AmCham Peru. He also has over 10 years of experience as a professor of Business Law at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) and of Legal Aspects of the Internet and E-Commerce at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).

He holds a law degree from the University of Lima and completed a master’s degree in Business Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. For more than 10 years, he has been recognized as one of Peru’s leading IP attorneys by several international legal directories, including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, WTR 1000, and IP Stars.
